Dunrobin Castle – Haunted Scotland Castles

Parts of this Scotland Castle were built in the 1300s. Dunrobin was built mostly to look like a French chateau and has been the home to the Sutherland family for over seven hundred years.
The daughter of the 14th Earl of Sutherland fell to her death while trying to escape an upstairs room by sliding down a rope. She was forbidden from marring her love by her father because he was unsuitable. It is believed that she is still haunting the upstairs floors.
If you find yourself in the Inverness area during your Scotland vacations you will find Dunrobin Castle about 90 minutes north in Sutherland.
Dunrobin is as amazing today as it ever was and you can visit the castle and take a guided tour. You can also shop in the gift shop and stroll the grounds and gardens.
